Llangeinor had the feeling of frustration hanging over their heads throughout this contest, a contest which they by and large dominated by Llangeinor on a surface that was difficult to play a free flowing game on.
The frustrating long grass wasn't the only issue both sides had to contend with there was the stifling near 30° heat to negotiate as well.

Llan started positively causing problems from the off, Harry Davies set the tone for what was to be a virtuoso performance of selfless running and movement combined with great technical skills and ruthless finishing. H was backed up by skipper Will Jones who looked back to his old self with some quality play in the final third. It was the skipper who opened the scoring with a trademark strike from 18 yards having previously been denied a pearler of a goal by the Ton keeper who was impressive throughout. 1-0Almost immediately Tonyrefail equalised with a bizarre own goal.
Goalkeeper Jack Davies and centre back Kai Lewis got their wires crossed which resulted in the Llan stopper heading into his own net from 18 yards 1-1. To Llangeinors credit they immediately started banging on the Ton door and they got a deserved second goal when the brilliant Harry Davies broke away from his marker 40 yards from goal beat another defender then raced away with electric pace and produced an exquisite finish by chipping the ball over the onrushing keeper into the bottom corner of the away net.

HT: Llangeinor 2-1 Tonyrefail

The second half was mainly a carbon copy of the first with spells of Llangeinor pressure and direct counter attacks from Tonyrefail who won a fair amount of corners during the game, and the accurate delivery of these corner kicks meant that centre backs Kai Lewis and Madden Wood had to be at their best in their 6 yard box and as always their almost telepathic unity was to the fore yet again. The third Llan goal came on 63 minutes thanks to another quality finish from Harry Davies who got his second of the afternoon after being played in by the faultless Dylan Woods Hill. Llan probed for their fourth but were dealt another bizarre blow when Gethin Lewis who was unposed somehow managed to head the ball into his own net from 10 yards out to the shock of everyone in the ground. Ton now had their tails up and pressed for an unexpected equaliser but we're kept at bay by the the exceptional defence pairing of Lewis and Wood backed up by Dylan Woods Hill, Josh Floyd and the dynamic Daf Owen. The final whistle signalled relief all round ending a bizarre game in which Llan scored all 5 goals.

FT: Llangeinor 3-2 Tonyrefail

Manager Simon Livick said "I'm delighted with the win and the 3 points, overall I was happy with our performance. It was a bizarre game highlighted by both the own goals which is something we can't let happen again. We have 5 players to come back into the squad next week as the holiday season hopefully starts coming to the end. Next week is my hundredth competitive game for Llangeinor and I'm hoping it will be a day to remember but we are gonna have to be better than today against a very good vale utd team"
