A RARE DISMAL NIGHT UNDER THE ANNY LIGHTS

398 Days Unbeaten At Home Comes To Numbing End...

Our first defeat in 398 days at the Anny as we were well beaten 3-0 by Avro last night.

The first twenty minutes attacking wise was all Breck without really testing the keeper, Alex Cherera beating his man on a few occasions but one shot was wasted and a ball across the 6 yard box went to the back post with no one there.

We kept getting in dangerous areas, and it seemed to be a matter of time before we would get the opener, but a sucker punch soon put a stop to that and despite having a decent shape behind the ball a shot from 45 yards somehow beat Theo who will be bitterly disappointed with the goal as it’s poor from him to be beaten with that effort.

In all honesty from then on we lost all belief and especially when the second goal went in, an unbelievable strike but the build up defensively from us was passive and weak and invited Avro on and there were more moments like that to follow with lads selling themselves way to easy.

HT 0-2

Second half i was bitterly disappointed as too many stopped putting the hard yards in, and it’s very rare I’ve had to say that, another sucker punch from Avro wrapped the game up but take nothing away from them there running and endeavour was first class and a lesson on the night for a few to take note of.

FT 0-3

Always plenty to say in defeat but simply put we were poor for 70 minutes and got punished with the first goal sucking the life outta the lads, the reaction not good enough, and they will certainly have to ask their own questions as to why.

All said, despite a bad night at the office, we still sit top of the pile and we just have to pick ourselves up just like we did after the Chasetown defeat and get right back at it and certainly no better place to go do that than at Bury on Saturday afternoon.

As always, massive thanks to those who braved the conditions last night, especially on arrival when the rain was coming down hard.
Always good to see and host the good people from Avro Rob Mark Hutton, Grace Hutton, and we certainly wish them well till the return game in the New Year.

Back on the road Saturday and no doubt backed by great numbers once again.

We Go Again.

Nulli Secundus…

Match Report: Lower Breck 0-3 Avro

Avro secured a statement win against Lower Breck after defeating the league leaders 3-0 at Anfield Sports and Community Centre.

Early on in the first half, the Breck had themselves a great chance to take the lead, as Alex Chamara managed to keep the ball in play before sending it across the 6-yard box. Unfortunately for Lower Breck, no one was able to get on the end of the pass by Chamara.

Around the 20th-minute mark, Jake Cottrell found himself with the ball in the centre of the park. He took a few touches and decided to have a shot on goal from 40 yards out. For the second time this week, Cottrell’s shot looped over the keeperand into the back of the net to make it 1-0 to the Ro in spectacular fashion.

Unfortunately, a few minutes after the goal, Jack Kenny would suffer a nasty injury after a phenomenal effort to stop the hosts’ attack inside the Ro’s box.

In the 35th minute, Kyle Hawley decided to have a run on goal from the centre circle. He dribbled past the Breck’smidfield and had a shot on goal from outside the box. His shot struck the back of the net to make it 2-0 against the league leaders.

Not long into the second half, Harry Salt worked the ball around the Lower Breck defence before playing it into the box for Kyle Hawley. Despite the ball reaching Hawley, the Ro’s number nine was unable to control it as he was shoved in the back by a Lower Breck defender, which was not seen by the referee.

In the 68th minute, Avro substitute Darren Ehimamieghofound some space on the right flank to play the ball into the box, hoping for someone to get on the end of it. Luckily, Ryley Smith got on the end of the pass to tap the ball into the net to make it 3-0 to the Ro and secure his first goal in an Avro shirt.

With a few minutes left of the match, the Ro had one more chance to extend their lead as Jack Morrow received the ball just outside the box and decided to have a shot. His low-driven shot was claimed by the keeper, and was the last action of the match as the referee would blow the whistle moments after this play.
