EFL League One

Following my morning game in Dagenham, I then quickly made my way to The Valley, via the District Line to West Ham, Docklands Light Railway to Woolwich Arsenal, and a train to Charlton, for what was very much a mid table League One clash.

Following a 2-0 win against Burton Albion at The Valley, Charlton followed that up with a 0-1 away win at Doncaster last Saturday, a result that should have been more convincing apparently, to extend Charlton's winning and clean sheet run to three games. It lifted the Addicks into 14th position, following 14 wins and seven draws from 39 league games, leaving them just a point off 12th place and top half finish, and with any lingering relegation fears banished once and for all, with a 16 point gap opened up, with 7 games left to play. And on paper, this fixture looked a good opportunity to extend that winning run, with Lincoln below Charlton in the table, in 18th place, following 11 wins and nine draws from 39 games, and being nine points clear of the relegation zone, have a little work left to do to ensure they avoid relegation.m. In the reverse fixture in mid October, Lincoln won 2-1 following what was apparently another abject Charlton performance under previous manager Nigel Adkins.
